So interesting situation going on. I was contacted by a recruiter and it did sound like a bit of a dream job. However, the company she was recruiting for is one of my current company’s competitors. I checked my documents and we have a non-compete clause meaning I can’t work for this company until a year after my current position is terminated. :/ Just feeling a BIT grumpy since there are only 3 companies we compete with: Shopify, Volusion and Magento. Magento called and it would be a better paying situation too.
I have violated such a clause in the past when I started my own company. I was told by that company’s CTO that they could legally pursue this, but chose not to. >_> So, I’m not willing to take the risk and do it again.
Thoughts on non-compete agreements?
